Un momento de inocencia
Relato semi-autobiográfico de la experiencia del director Makmahlbaf como adolescente cuando, a sus 17 años de edad, apuñaló a un policía en una protesta contra el régimen del Sha. Tras pasar varios años en la cárcel, dos décadas después se decide a rastrear a dicho polícia herido para intentar arreglar las cosas. Ahora Makmahlbaf es un hombre reformado y un director de cine, mientras que el agente ya no se dedica a la seguridad y entre ambos intentarán colaborar para para llevar a cabo esta película. ~ Sensacine
Un momento de inocencia corresponde a la antigua tradicion artesanal persa y tiene además la virtud de la sencillez argumental: la trama, metacinematográfica, nos presenta el proceso de recrear, para filmarlo, un acto de la juventud del director, que se deja enunciar así: «el joven Mohsen Makhmalbaf acuchilla a un guardia del Sha con la ayuda de una chica». La preparación de esa filmación se convierte en toda una glosa de aquel momento, la cual se va desplegando conforme cada uno de los actores que encarnará a los dos protagonistas masculinos es guiado precisamente por su representado, esto es, Mohsen prepara al actor que dará vida al joven Mohsen y el guardia, retirado a raíz del episodio, al que será el joven guardia. A Moment of Innocence
A
semi-autobiographical account of Makmahlbaf’s experience as a teenager
when, as a 17-year-old, he stabbed a policeman at a protest rally. Two
decades later, he tracks down the policeman he injured in an attempt to
make amends.
In Tehran, a former policeman in his forties gets in contact with the Iranian director Mohsen Makhmalbaf, reminding the filmmaker that he had promised him a part in his next movie. In fact, the two men had "met" 20 years earlier under rather dramatic circumstances: in 1975, the young Makhmalbaf, a dissident under the Shah's regime, stabbed this policeman while trying to steal his revolver. Imprisoned, the future filmmaker was released during the height of the Revolution. Instead of coming through with a role for the policeman, Makhmalbaf suggests that he prepares a restaging of that politically dramatic moment during '70s Iran from his own point of view as a former law enforcer; Makhmalbaf will prepare his own restaging as well, so that both stories could be woven into a dramatization, which Makhmalbaf and his crew would shoot. What results is an exercise in perspective and layered dramatic parody: each of the protagonists will have a small film crew and re-create the event as he saw it.
