El hada

Dom trabaja en el turno de noche en un pequeño hotel cerca del puerto industrial de Le Havre. Una noche, una mujer llega sin equipaje y sin zapatos. Su nombre es Fiona. Le dice a Dom que es un hada y le concede tres deseos. Fiona hace realidad dos deseos, y luego desaparece misteriosamente. Dom, que para entonces se ha enamorado de Fiona, la busca por todas partes y finalmente la encuentra en el hospital psiquiátrico donde ha sido internada...

[...] El trío de directores, dignos herederos de Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, Buster Keaton, Mack Sennet o incluso Jacques Tati, ofrece en La Fée un trabajo de gran riqueza creativa, una obra intemporal de funambulismo poético para la que no dejan nada en el tintero (disfraces estrambóticos, coreografías delirantes, persecuciones incesantes, coincidencias perfectas...) y encadenan graciosos gags y efectos especiales artesanales, con la ingenuidad voluntaria del cine mudo. Los tres cineastas e intérpretes no resultan solamente tres payasos con talento y transgresores: su película desliza, también, en sordina, la metáfora de un mundo contemporáneo inundado de soledad, rutina y premura, donde los humanos sueñan con lo extraño, con el amor, la ayuda mutua o incluso la inmigración clandestina.

The Fairy

Dom works the night shift in a small hotel near the industrial sea port of Le Havre. One night, a woman arrives with no luggage and no shoes. Her name is Fiona. She tells Dom she is a fairy and grants him three wishes. Fiona makes two wishes come true, then mysteriously disappears. Dom, who by then has fallen in love with Fiona searches for her everywhere and eventually finds her in the psychiatric hospital where she has been interned...

[...] The trio of directors, worthy heirs of Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, Buster Keaton, Mack Sennet and even Jacques Tati, offer in La Fée a work of great creative richness, a timeless work of poetic funambulism for which they omit nothing (bizarre costumes, delirious choreographies, incessant chases, perfect coincidences...) and chain funny gags and handmade special effects, with the voluntary ingenuity of silent films. The three filmmakers and performers are not only talented clowns and transgressors: their film also hints at, in a muffled way, the metaphor of a contemporary world flooded with loneliness, routine and haste, where humans dream of the unknown, of love, reciprocal help or even clandestine immigration.
