Andy y Sebastian quieren conseguir mucho dinero de una manera rápida y fácil. Inspirados por las películas, se convierten en investigadores privados.  Pero ser investigador privado es un trabajo más exigente de lo que Andy y Sebastian habían pensado inicialmente. Sus conocidas Annabella, Christa y Micky también forman parte de los problemas de Andy y Sebastian. Los candidatos a detectives se van enredando cada vez más en cosas que les resultan demasiado complicadas...

Detektive es el primer largometraje de Rudolf Thome, y lógicamente se trata de una película de chicas, pistolas y dos holgazanes. La historia es casi olvidable, se trata del estilo. Y, por supuesto, la hermosa Uschi Obermaier. Los diálogos son divertidísimos, súper inexpresivos, la trama del crimen es ridícula, la cinematografía es hermosa. Se trata de un film muy endeudado con la Nouvelle Vague francesa y las películas clásicas de gángsters de Hollywood, Detektive está a kilómetros de distancia de la Nueva Ola Alemana de Wenders, Kluge y Fassbinder. Eso es lo que hace que esta pequeña película, rodada con amigos los fines de semana, sea tan especial.  - (Letterboxd)

Andy and Sebastian want to make a lot of money in a quick and easy way. Inspired by the movies, they become private investigators. Their first case happens to be about a beautiful girl called Annabella. But being a private investigator is a more demanding job then Andy and Sebastian had initially thought. Their female acquaintances Annabella, Christa, and Micky also have their share in Andy′s and Sebastian′s problems. The two wannabe detectives become more and more entangled in things that prove to be too much for them.

Detektive is Rudolf Thome's feature debut, and naturally it was a movie about girls, guns and two slackers. The story is almost forgettable, it's all about the style. And, of  course, the beautiful Uschi Obermaier. The dialogues are hilarious, super deadpan, the crime plot is ridiculous, the cinemathography beautiful. Heavily indebted to the French Nouvelle Vague and Hollywood's classic gangster films, Detektive is miles away from the German New Wave of Wenders, Kluge and Fassbinder. That's what makes this little flic, shot with friends on weekends, so special.  - (Letterboxd)
